 FcsAngles - This a freeware XTension for QuarkXpress 3.1. The purpose of
fcsAngles is to change the default screen angles at which Xpress prints.
By default Xpress uses 105 degrees for Cyan, 75 degrees for Magenta, 90
degrees for Yellow and 45 degrees for black. With fcsAngles you can change
these values to any others you wish. The XTension creates a new menu item
in the Utilities menu of Xpress. Full documentation is included.

document is saved in Canvas 3.5 using the Canvas 3.0 file format, the
document icon might appear as a blank document, rather than as a Canvas
document. In this case, you should use the TypeUpdater to update the file.

application which could take advantage of it. Since none are currently
readily available, I decided to make my own! Speaker 1.0 is a no-frills
text editor, with speech capabilities, which works with TEXT files. Speaker
will NOT work without Apple's Speech Manager. If you were looking for a
program which can read you text files to you, you've found it. Choose from
many different voices! Speaker lets you speak your files by line or file
and you can change Voice, Pitch, and Rate of the voices! The voices are (or

the Illustrator 5.0 upgrade. It took about a day to create the new colors
and produce the final documents. It was a relatively easy process. Anyway,
here they are. PANTONE 1000 Colors (coated) containa the complete set of
the Pantone 1000 Coated colors; PANTONE New Colors Only provides a visual
guide to the new Pantone colors. (Both are in Adobe Illustrator 3 format).
The two Illustrator files were initially created in Adobe Illustrator 5.0
and saved in Adobe Illustrator 3 format (so people without Adobe
Illustrator 5 canaccess these colors). This is not an official Adobe or

 I.R. Effects - Here are two files that will make Photoshop images appear as
if they have been shot with infrared film. I have included an arbitary map
for 24bit RGB images and a CLUT for 8bit index color images. Simply load
these files under the arbitary map controls or the color table controls,
respectively. Of course these files don't really turn a normal image into a
IR image, I don't know if there really is a way to do this, but the image
will have the feel of a IR picture. These files will give you a image made
up completly of shades of red. If you want your end result to be a black
and white photo, simply convert it to grayscale after applying one of these
'maps.'

standard calibration strip for the Photoshop "Transfer" function under page
setup. It generates all the control points for the transfer curve (0%, 5%,

entire strip. The calibration strip is generated as a portrait, but it can
be rotated as needed. This can be used to calibrate and verify highlight
dots and to verify that the shadow dots are not plugged. The 50% point

types of possible warnings that inform the user of differences between
internal QuarkXPress settings and the contents of the document. These
warnings appear when the XPress Preferences differ from the document's

both cases, SpeedOpen can be useful to avoid these messages. SpeedOpen adds
a submenu to the Utilities menu that contains the two items Settings and
Hyphenation language. The first item enables you to define a default
behaviour for differing preferences, the second item lets you set the

 Quote Init Gen - This INIT was inspired by Philip Borenstein’s elegant desk
accessory, SmartQuotes. It's function is identical to SmartQuotes. When
active the INIT replaces neutral double quotes (") with quote pairs (“”)
and neutral single quotes (') with apostrophes (’).  The substitution can
be turned on and off by typing the command-shift-key combination of your
choice. The major difference between this INIT and the SmartQuotes DA is
that the INIT is global. Once invoked it is active in all applications
until specifically deactivated. It can be configured to become active
automatically at system startup. 1987.

2.0 I added the new feature of restoring line feeds. Since I was using PCs
at the time, I really needed to move both ways. To add line feeds to a file
you simply have to hold down the option key during launch. As an added
feature, you may add Unix style line feeds by holding down the control key
instead.

(#BMT512).  I then whipped out QuarkXpress and churned out the enclosed two
documents. If you want to see what my brochure looks like (and I hope you
do), make sure you have Hank Gillette's excellent freeware Architect font
(included in this package in TrueType format) installed.

developer) and wondered if I could change that dull Geneva to something
with more pizzaz. Then it hit meif I could install another 12 point font
and change it’s name and ID to that of Geneva, it would do the trick. SO
HERE IT IS! I’ve included New York as the patch font, but, if you
understand what I told you, you can change it to anything you like. P.S. If
you’re going to give a document to others, it’s alright to install the

established that Aldus Freehand, without alerting anyone, will sometimes
substitute Times or Helvetica for a font that may or may not be available
in the system. This problem is independent of the importing and printing
application and can become quite a nuisance, especially when it offsets
many hours of hard work on a Ready,Set,Go! or DesignStudio document.
Freehand can, however, be modified to replace the missing font with Zapf
Dingbats, or some other very noticeable font so that you may catch this

supports over 16 million colors.  In order to do this, ColorStudio makes
use of 32 bits per image pixel.  Because of this, even images that are

virtual memory files so that images that are larger than the amount of
internal RAM available can be edited. A virtual memory file will use space
